Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning Will Premier In Japan This October

.It has now been announced that Digimon Adventure: 02 The Beginning, the latest movie in the Digimon Adventure series will premiere in cinemas across Japan on the 27th of October.

New key art of the movie has also been released. It features the main character of Adventure 02 Davis (Daisuke) and his Digimon partner Veemon, as well as the new movie’s original character Rui.

The movie is a sequel to the previous Digimon Adventure movie, Last Evolution Kizuna, and will focus on the cast of the second season of Digimon who are now working adults. The plot sees Davis working at a ramen shop when a giant digi-egg appears in the sky. This is where they meet Rui, a man who believes that he was the first person to become a Digidestined (chosen child). Despite this, he does not actually have a Digimon partner.

This will be the fifth entry in the original Digimon Adventure series. It comes following the first two seasons of Digimon, the Digimon Adventure Tri movie series, and finally Last Evolution Kizuna.

Digimon 02 The Beginning is being animated by Yumeta Company in partnership with Toei, directed by Tomohisa Taguchi and the script is being written by Akatsuki Yamatoya all of whom return from Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.

Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will release in Japanese cinemas on October 27th.
