The Academy Awards isn’t the only place where Everything Everywhere All At Once has won big. According to IGN, the film has actually become the most-awarded film of all time, receiving at least 158 accolades from major award bodies. This surpasses the former record holder ‘The Lord of The Rings: Return Of The King’ which received 101 accolades.
Prior to winning the Oscar, Michelle Yeoh has previously accepted awards from the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award for her performance in the mother as Evelyn Quan Wang, a Chinese-American woman dissatisfied with her life working at a family-run laundry business but is soon swept into a perilous fight that spans across the universe.
As a critic myself, I can safely say that Everything Everywhere deserved each and every one of these awards. The film is a perfect mixture of comedy, martial arts action, and drama wrapped up in a heartfelt story about family and self-discovery. I’d highly recommend giving it a watch if you haven’t yet.
