Bandai Namco Entertainment has revealed that a new Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi game is currently in development along with a new teaser trailer.
The game has not received an official title however many fans are already referring to it as “Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4”. The teaser trailer (via the Youtube Channel GamersPrey) showed no in-game footage however following several clips from previous games shown on vintage CRT televisions, it does reveal a high-definition model of Goku transforming into his Super Saiyan Blue form.
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi games are arena fighters that allow players to choose between the many fighters across the Dragon Ball franchise to duke it out in large 3D arenas. The series currently consists of three mainline games and one spin-off on the PSP.
The last mainline title was Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 which was released 16 years ago in 2007 for the PS2 and Nintendo Wii. The game is notable for having a roster of 98 different characters with 161 different forms between them. This gives the series one of the largest fighting game rosters of all time, even larger than Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
It has not been confirmed what consoles the game will be available on however most Dragon Ball games tend to be multiplatform releases so it’ll likely come to the next-gen consoles and PC at the very least.
