New Pikmin 4 Trailer Shows Off Main Protagonist, New Pikmin And July Release Date

Nintendo has released a new trailer for Pikmin 4 that shows off a slew of new features for the game including new Pikmin, a dog-like ally, and the return of the caves.

It has also been announced that the game will be released on the 21st of July 2023. You can check out the new Pikmin 4 trailer below:

“Chart a mysterious planet with curious plantlike Pikmin that come in different types in Pikmin 4—like the brand-new Ice Pikmin! The capable canine, Oatchi, will also help to overcome big challenges”.

The highlight of the direct trailer was the new Ice Pikmin which can freeze enemies and the new dog-like Pikmin creature named Oatachi which helps you in battle, including traversing through obstacles like allowing you and your Pikmin to cross water.

It also seems that the game has a new protagonist as opposed to Captain Olimar or the crew from Pikmin 3 although their name wasn’t given in the trailer.

Finally, it seems the caves from Pikmin 2 are returning. These are dungeon areas throughout the game that aren’t limited by the time limit of the standard days.

As the name implies Pikmin 4 is the fourth mainline game in the Pikmin series with the last game being Pikmin 3 which was released back for the Wii U in 2013 and later rereleased for the Switch as Pikmin 3 Deluxe.

Pikmin 4 will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on July 21st, 2023.
