SNL has released a new skit seeing actor Michael B Jordan and comedian Bowen Yang as voice actors coming to vice Ryu and Ken for Street Fighter 6.
HOW MUCH DID CAPCOM PAY FOR RYU GET CALLED RAIYU ON SNL💀 pic.twitter.com/yPMGMUWnfb

The skit sees voice actors Trace (Jordan) and Danny (Yang) attempt to voice act the grunts and fight sounds of Ryu (or rather Rai-yoo as they pronounce it) and Ken and not quite get them down right. Their various voice clips sound a little too strange and cute for a fighting game with phrases like “woo-hoo” and “Meow”. We won’t spoil the rest, the SNL Street Fighter 6 skit can be found online and we’d highly recommend seeking it out.
This isn’t the first time SNL has parodied fighting games. In 2017 they released a skit called ‘Tournament Fighter’ about a gaming tournament over a functional fighting game inspired heavily by Mortal Kombat. The skit pokes fun at typical fighting game players, characters, and gameplay in SNL’s usual absurdist comedic way.
Honestly, if Capcom were to ever release Michael B Jordan and Bowen Yang voice clips for Rye and Ken as DLC for Street Fighter 6, I’d buy it.
Street Fighter 6 will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
