Wanderer, the Eons Adrift, is a 5-star Anemo Catalyst character featured in the first half of the 3.3 Update in Genshin Impact.
If you like using Heizou, then he is right up your alley as he plays much like him if not better. Short cooldown, superb multipliers, he is all around a solid on-field DPS for your needs.
WANDERER KIT
Wanderer’s Elemental Skill is “Hanega: Song of the Wind” and deals AoE Anemo Damage and leaps him upwards to enter him in the Windfavored state.
Windfavored changes his Normal and Charged Attack, increasing both of its damage and AoE. His Charged Attack also costs no stamina in this state.
When in Windfavored state, Wanderer will have a separate bar called the Kuugoryoku Points. The bar will deplete over time to keep him hovering in the air. You can sprint to dash mid air and jump to increase the hover even higher but that will consume the Kuugoryoku Points even faster.
The Windfavored state ends when the bar is completely depleted or when you recast his Elemental Skill.
Wanderer’s Elemental Burst is called “Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays” and it deals AoE Anemo Damage up to five times when used. His Elemental Burst will also end his Windfavored state should he be in it when cast.
WANDERER PASSIVE
His first passive is “Jade-Claimed Flower” that provides him with buffs when the initial AoE Anemo Damage from casting his Elemental Skill comes into contact with certain elements.
Hydro increases the cap to Kuugoryoku Points, Pyro increases his Attack%, Cryo increases his Crit Rate and Electro restores his Energy for each of his Normal and Charged Attack.
Only a maximum 2 of the buffs can be activated upon cast so you cannot have all 4 of the buffs at the same time, and the buffs last throughout his Windfavored state.
His second passive is “Gales of Reverie”, giving him the chance to activate Descent effect when he hits opponents with Normal or Charged Attack while in Windfavored state.
This Descent effect removes the Kuugoryoku Points consumption when dashing mid-air and will also fire off 4 arrows to deal Anemo Damage to enemies. The Descent effect is then removed afterwards.
His adventure skill decreases the mora cost when ascending Bows and Catalyst weapons, much like how Raiden does for Swords and Polearms.

4-Piece: When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s. This effect will not trigger again during that duration |
Shimenawas Reminiscence is the best choice if you are going for Normal Attack focused gameplay for Wanderer. This however, would mean Wanderer would be unable to use his Burst to end his rotation due to the effects of the 4-piece bonus.

Mixing Desert Pavillion and Viridescent Venerer is the budget option if you are not willing to farm for a perfect 4-piece of the first 2. As a catalyst user, Wanderer benefits greatly from the double bonus Anemo Damage.

Faruzan | 4★ | Anemo | Faruzan is the prime choice in your team since she’s built to support Anemo DPS much like how Shenhe is for Cryo DPS, from bonus Anemo Damage to Anemo Shredding. |

STRENGTH
Wanderer’s is a pure on-field DPS that can stay on the field for as long as you need. You can pretty much go monkey brain with him since both his Elemental Skill and Burst comes with a short cooldown. The Burst also comes with a 60-cost battery and unless you are running Shimenawa on him, you can pretty much have his Burst ready every time it finishes cooldown.
WEAKNESS
If there is one thing that Wanderer is weak at is in Reactions. Much like Heizou and Xiao, Wanderer does not benefit greatly with Swirl damages, even more so since he does not have any significant bonus when other elements are included.
The only benefit of other elements in the party is from his passive “Jade-Claimed Flower” and even then, it is to buff up his Windfavored state and support his Normal Attack.
SHOULD YOU PULL
2 years since he drops in and calls the sky fake and if you’ve been waiting that long, then I salute you for your dedication. He is downright a menace and I respect your choices if you want to roll for him. He is even good gameplay wise since the multipliers for his offense are pretty solid with short cooldowns on his kit.
His only downside is his lack in Elemental Reactions which is one of the key features in the Spiral Abyss. Outside of the current season which favours him, he probably would not replace any existing Spiral team but can still be a solid DPS for it, especially with Faruzan on the team.
Scara-, I mean Wanderer is a good choice to pull for if you are on the fence since he is only lacking if you are playing Genshin on the more meta side of things and otherwise, he is a pretty solid character all around.
He also floats. Can you imagine just how easy exploration is with that floating? Practically SSS tier if I say so myself.
