Over at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) last weekend, the largest animation, comics and games festival in Malaysia – Comic Fiesta 2017 was held successfully. Thousands of artists, cosplayers and fans have gathered during the 2-days event (estimated 60, 000 in total). We are lucky to be part of it so here is a short summary of what we experienced during the event. But before that, check out our Day-1 recap video below:
Tons of activities are available during the event, including Creative Art Market where the artists from around the region are selling their awesome works and exhibition booths that showcases gorgeous art illustrations for both comics and games. There are some game booths allowing you to try out their game or buy the merchandises too! Also, several competitions such as Armageddon Cup 2017, Garena AOV Finals and Cosplay Invitational are held, while the Comic Fiesta Night Jam is back again featuring the legendary Earthbound Papas.
In my opinion, this year’s event is overcrowded with visitors (more packed than previous years) and unfortunately, we couldn’t have a look clearly at what is showcased on the exhibition booths. The media interview sessions are not well-managed as some are unconfirmed yet (no confirmation is made even on the hour before the allocated time slot) so we will need to wait for updates from the management team. Nonetheless, we have encountered a lot of exciting activities as well as getting to know some new friends (cosplayers everywhere too!).
There are still some rooms for the management team to improve, but I hope we will see more event like this in the future!
