Honor of Kings World, the upcoming open world spinoff of the popular Honor Of Kings IP put out a new gameplay trailer today, answering some questions about just what exactly the game aims to be.
While earlier trailers for the game poised it as a Monster Hunter clone, it looks to be yet another open world title similar to Genshin Impact– the trailers hows big open fields as well as a mix of classic and new traversal tools.
One of the more interesting gameplay tools in Honor of Kings World is a sort of grappling hook that latches on to empty space, not unlike Monster Hunter Rise’s wirebugs.
Aside from that we also saw more of the game’s weapons- five of them were shown off in this trailer, including:
- A slow, two-handed greatsword (used by a different character)
- A faster long-sword (used by a different character)
- A fast set of dual blades
- A bow with charge shots
- The most important fantasy weapon, a mechanized jetpack with dual chainguns (used by a different character)
The game also teased another boss, this time in the form of a giant tree-stag, though the fight itself wasn’t shown.
Honor of Kings is the de facto largest mobile game IP in the world, regularly topping global revenue with its China release alone.
While the game did launch in the West under the Arena of Valor name, Tencent had also announced another release of the game in the west under the Honor of Kings title.
