Summoners War is known to most of us in this day of age with it being one of the most downloaded and popular game in stores. The game by Com2uS is still growing with new patches which adds to its competitive nature. However Com2uS is not going to stop there; it seems Robert Kirkman, the creator of “The Walking Dead” along with his crew will be creating comics and animations with its own origin story to expand Summoners War outside of the world of gaming.
Check out the announcement video below:
In the video performance by Robert Kirkman at the “Summoners War World Arena Championship 2017” which was held at the MS Theater in LA, it was announced that Com2uS has signed a business contract with Skybound Entertainment which will attempt to expand the Summoners War IP. With the help of Robert Kirkman and Catherine Winder, they will be behind the creation of an original storyline for Summoners War to create an experience for players alongside the game.
Com2uS Ceo, Byeong-Jun Song said, “We’re going to try to be the first to successfully bring Korea’s original content to Hollywood, in hopes to mold it into a major IP, reaching out to the world and bypassing all cultural boundaries.”
With Summoners War‘s international success, the collaboration with Skybound Entertainment will further boost the influence of the game to create a continuous positive impact on the global market. Since it’s release back in 2014, the game has already accumulated over 80 million downloads worldwide with about USD$1,000,000,000 of revenue.
