A new ad has been released for the recently released mobile game One Punch Man: The Strongest and it’s very strange.
The One Punch Man: The Strongest ad sees a live-action Saitama (who seems to have forgotten to shave this morning) enter a restaurant and start rapping as the rest of the customers and staff dance along. I won’t lie, it’s pretty cringe. The One Punch Man fan account @Everything_OPM has posted the ad. Watch at your own risk.
This ad for the new One Punch Man mobile game is terrible😭 pic.twitter.com/Piam8JHOMv

Not only is the rapping stilted, autotuned, and badly worded but fans probably aren’t going to be happy with the main character being referred to as “One Punch Man” as opposed to his actual name Saitama or even his hero code name “Caped Baldy”. Remember One Punch Man isn’t his name, it’s just the title of the manga.
If that’s not enough, Twitter user @TMOComedyy found another ad for the game featuring a live-action Garou and Tatsumaki. The acting is…something.
don’t worry though, it gets worse pic.twitter.com/qgErBxyG6A

Fan Reaction
Many users started mocking how bad the commercial is over social media. On an upload of the ad to Youtube by the channel Cringe Frenzy, users are baffled by the fact that this is an official commercial and one comment even pointed out that this is the first love action appearance of Saitama. The opinions of Twitter have not been much better:
I’m so confused because apparently the developer of the game is from Hong Kong and obviously the anime is from Japan and for some reason they just went full occidental in the ads but also they have the Japanese voice acting??? Like what is this? Are these ads aired in Asia too???

Strange Youtube Mobile Ads
As weird as these are, ads like these are becoming somewhat of a trend. Cheaply-made commercials for new mobile games with bad acting and cheesy dialogue. They’re usually played through Youtube ads. I was able to find the one above for the game Warpath uploaded by Youtuber Son Gohan.
For what it’s worth, the game One Punch Man: The Strongest has been well received by fans of the manga/anime with the original Japanese cast reprising their roles.
One Punch Man: The Strongest is available for mobile devices.
