Today at the RGG (Ryu Ga Gotoku) Summit 2022 event, Like a Dragon 8 has been revealed with an approximate release date being sometime in 2024.
In the announcement trailer that was shown, it features the return of Ichiban Kasuga, the main protagonist of Like a Dragon 7 as well as Kiryu Kazuma, who in the trailer has a slight difference in terms of his appearance. While there isn’t much information about the game itself, it seems from the trailer that the 8th title of Like a Dragon will feature a dual protagonist story. It is also known that the 8th installment to the game will have its story be continued from where it left off in the 7th title.
During the session with the Voice Actors Kazuhiro Nakaya and Takaya Kuroda who voiced Ichiban Kasuga and Kiryu Kazuma respectively, they mentioned that theme of the game will feature “A man who has the past on his back and a man who has the future on his back” where the past represents Kiryu Kazuma who has appeared in various previous titles whereas the future represents Ichiban Kasuga with him being the new kid on the block with Like a Dragon 7 being his first appearance.
Like a Dragon 8 will be releasing to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X & S, and PC via Steam.
