Left 4 Dead II Was Added To Mobile, But It’s a Fake

A few days ago, it was reported that a mobile game called “Left 4 Dead II Mobile” had been reviewed on the Official Australian Rating Board, and now it seems that the game has been launched on the Google Play Store.

This is not Valve’s “Left 4 Dead 2” though. Rather it’s a game called “Left 4 Dead II Mobile”. These are two completely different games made by two completely unrelated companies. In other words, the newly released mobile game is a knockoff with no relation to the PC game whatsoever.

Booting up the game, players are met with a messy spattering of unfinished buildings and zombie models that can barely be called a video game. It certainly isn’t “Left 4 Dead 2”.

Gaming website Wanuxi alongside Discord user yklastgo found that the developer of “Left 4 Dead II Mobile” is CB&AKG Games, not Valve, in fact, Valve’s name is listed nowhere on the Australian rating board page or the game’s play store page.

A Google Search of CB&AKG Games reveals they’re a complete enigma. There’s no information about them beyond the news about Left 4 Dead II Mobile. They don’t have a website nor are they listed on any other gaming companies’ websites.

The Game’s Play Store page has a link to the website of Jakarta-based Game Developer AKG Games who support Activision-Blizzard with their projects but they don’t seem to have any affiliation with CB&AKG Games.

The language of the privacy treaty used by CB&AKG Games is actually in Turkish. This means that they likely don’t originate from Southeast Asia.

The Google Store page also lists several other titles including “Patrol Officers Mobile”, “House Party Mobile” and most suspect of all “Monster Hunter Mobile”. This Google page of this Monster Hunter game even reuses artwork from Monster Hunter World.

In conclusion, this is a knockoff. If you want to play the real Left 4 Dead 2, you can do so on PC and Mac via Steam. As of right now, there’s no way to play the game on mobile devices.
