Virtual Youtuber Projekt Melody in her recent tweet has called out Call of Duty Warzone for one of the new anime weapon skin that draws a lot of similarity to her vtuber model.

The weapon titled “Lovedrunk Melody” is part of the anime Bitrate Banger bundle from Call of Duty Warzone that was released on the 11th August in the Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Store. The bundle features an operator skin, weapon blueprints, charms, emblems and other cosmetic items which are all anime themed.
Twitter user CharlieIntel has posted a clip where you’ll be able to see the weapon up close in action and the anime girl portrayed on the side of the gun shares a lot of similarities to Projekt Melody’s Vtuber model.

While it is certainly not a one-to-one replica of Projekt Melody’s Vtuber model, the resemblance that it has in terms of hairstyle, hair highlights, colour scheme and overall vibe is remarkably similar and the fact that the skin is called “Lovedrunk Melody” would raise some questions about this.
Whether or not if this Projekt Melody and Call of Duty controversial is just a mere coincidence or intentional, it’s also worth noting that Activision does not have a clean track record when it comes to plagiarism, especially with just one incident that just happened recently.
