Chaos Effect, A New Blazblue Mobile Roguelike Announced In China [Updated]

Blazblue appears to be heading to mobile again, shortly after the timely demise of Blazblue Alternative: Dark War with the new game, Chaos Effect.

Appearing on TapTap, Chaos Effect appears to be a Roguelike inspired by the popular fighting game franchise, featuring characters like Ragna The Bloodedge and Es.

According to the developers, the game is an officially licensed Blazblue game, being the second one released by them following Blazblue RR.

We’ve reached out to Arc System Works for comment on the legitimacy of the game, and will update the article accordingly.

UPDATE: A representative from Arc System Works has confirmed that the game is an officially licensed Blazblue title.

Here’s the description of Chaos Effect from the game’s TapTap page:

Enter a world of intertwined reality and crisis and explore deeper and deeper again and again – neon night docks, barren and crumbling ruins, mysterious nature labs …… Several different styles of worlds are waiting to be discovered, where not only unknown enemies but also hidden stories are stored.

Blazblue Chaos Effect will be having a closed technical test on the 19th of July on Android devices, but the game’s BiliGame page also lists a PC release as coming in future as well.
