After years of requests Persona is finally making it’s way to the Switch with Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal confirmed for Nintendo’s console.
Like the Previously announced Xbox, PS5, and Steam ports Persona 5 will come to the console on October 21st, 2022 and the other two games will be released next year in 2023.
You can check out the official trailer for the three Persona games on the AtlusUSA Youtube channel:
This will be the first time the mainline Persona games have appeared on Nintendo consoles although several of the franchise spin-off games including Persona Q, Persona 4 Arena, and Persona 5 Strikers have previously made their way to the Big Ns systems. And thankfully they don’t seem to be cloud versions either.
With the Switch versions confirmed Persona is now available on all of the big console video game platforms. Perhaps a certain goomba can crawl back down his sewer pipe now.
The Persona games are JRPGs that mix traditional dungeon crawling with dating sims. The series is well known for its contemporary Japanese settings that deal with real-world issues that affect their well-developed characters.
The series is currently celebrating its 25th Anniversary which seems to include porting these games to new consoles that they previously weren’t previously available for.
Persona 5 Royal will be available for Nintendo Switch as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Steam on October 21st. Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will be available in 2023.
And if you want to know why Atlus chose to port Persona 3 Portable and not FES, we have an article explaining our thoughts.
