As part of the Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary announcements, the previously announced Ever Crisis will be having a closed beta test sometime 2022. Check out the anniversary trailer below:
The Ever Crisis closed beta has no other time frame besides “2022” restricted to certain regions, which might be interesting to consider when the website says the release date is also sometime 2022.
Last year, we announced FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS: a new episodic single-player mobile game that will allow players to experience the world of FINAL FANTASY VII and its connected stories – including that of the original FFVII!
During the 25th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, we announced that we are planning to carry out a closed beta test during 2022. We also gave fans a new look at this exciting project.

The original announcement blurb is as follows:
It’s a chapter-structured single player game covering the whole of the FFVII timeline – including the events of the original game and the FFVII compilation titles.
As the blurb says, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis will feature the entire compilation of the Final Fantasy 7 verse, “and more”. This includes:
- Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children
- Before Crisis
- Crisis Core
- Dirge of Cerberus
There’s a short-haired Sephiroth – or so one would assume – in the anniversary trailer. In any case, one would hope it will be an interesting experience.
