Honor of Kings to get a global version it already had

Level Infinite has announced a global version of Honor of Kings from TiMi Group Studios, to be coming at the end of the year. The thing is, players already have one, except it was rebranded to Arena of Valor for the international audience.

We have great news! We will be rolling out Honor of Kings by TiMi Studio Group to you global gamers by the end of this year! Rounds of closed beta tests will be gradually announced starting next month. Please be patient and stay tuned for more updates!

As mentioned, Arena of Valor already exists, so the question begs to be asked: what will happen to that game? Will progress somehow be merged and carried over after all those years of play? Replies to the Twitter announcement include:

• Improving Arena of Valor instead of “ripping off” their own game
• The release will “kill” AOV

Some are wondering if this is actually the RPG instead of the MOBA with one claiming it is indeed the former, but with only this teaser announcement for now, we’ll have to wait for confirmation. We probably won’t have too long to wait as the publisher / developer will be present at Summer Game Fest.
