It has been confirmed that the upcoming Batman game that won’t actually feature Batman, Gotham Knights will have offline single-player and no microtransactions. Unfortunately, it has also been confirmed that the PS4 and Xbox One versions have been canceled.
Recently Warner Bros. Games released a gameplay demo of Gotham Knights which contains two characters that will appear in this game, namely Red Hood and Nightwing.
But the trailer wasn’t the only thing Warner Bros. Games released, they also issued a FAQ on their official website.
For those of you who are worried that Gotham Knights will require a connection to the internet, the FAQ confirms that players will be able to go through the game solo and completely offline.
The FAQ also confirmed that Gotham Knight will have no microtransactions or in-game purchases. From the sounds of it, this will be a complete game without in-game purchases locking away content.
The game was originally planned to release on the PS4 and Xbox One but these versions have been canceled. Director Geoff Ellenor says in the new trailer that this was ” to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience.”
The game takes place in an alternate universe where Batman has been killed leading to a heavy increase in crime all around Gotham. Players will control one of Batman’s four allies, Robin, Batgirl, Knightwing, or Red Hood as they fight to take down a mysterious group called the Court of Owls.
Gotham Knight will be released on Playstation 5, Xbox Series, PC via Epic Game Stores, and Steam on October 25th 2022.
