When asked about the games coming to the revamped PS Plus, Jim Ryan says that the service will have all the “big name” publishers on it.
On the Official Playstation Podcast, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment was asked about what games would be coming to the Playstation Plus live service. He said he couldn’t give any specific names however they would have all the major game companies and a wide selection of genres.
“I’m going to play a little hard to get on that one, but I can tell you free that we have massive publisher participation in this program. We have all the big names present,”
“We have big publishers, we have small indie publishers. We have over 200 partners working with us to put their content into PlayStation Plus, so the lineup is going to be really strong.”
Last week Sony announced that they will be revamping their online service Playstation Plus. It will be merged with Playstation Now and feature a three-tier structure with higher tiers giving players access to over 400 games.
Big name games that have been confirmed to be coming to the PS Plus service include:
- Death Stranding
- God of War (2018)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Returnal
The fact that these are more recent PS4 and PS5 releases does imply that more modern games will be coming to the platform, however, Ryan has previously stated that First party Playstation titles will not be coming to the platform on the day of their release as it could hurt their release and it “wouldn’t make any sense.”
The new PlayStation plus overhaul is due to launch in June of 2022.
