Coffee Talk will go on sale until April 5th, in memory of the game’s late co-creator Mohammad Fahmi Hasni.
In an announcement on Steam today, the Coffee Talk team said that the game would be available at a 32% discount, the same age Mohammad Fahmi was when he passed away earlier this week.
“Fahmi had a big heart and was a wonderful person”, the statement reads. “He was known as someone who is really passionate about telling meaningful stories through games. He was a role model that inspired many of us, especially Indonesian indie game developers. We are all mourning for the loss and we miss him terribly. It still feels so surreal that he is no longer with us”.
The proceeds from this sale would go to support Fahmi’s family, the statement says.
“His sudden departure was devastating, and the most impacted is his family. To help Fahmi’s family in this difficult time, we are fundraising through Coffee Talk”, it reads. “The game will be discounted for 32% from Thursday, March 31st (10 AM PT) to Monday, April 4th (10 AM PT) and all of our proceeds from this period will be given to Fahmi’s family.”
The entire game dev industry was awash with grief over news of Fahmi’s passing, as developers both local and foreign took their Twitter to air their grief over his passing.
