Elden Ring players really love the NPC Blaidd the Half Wolf, easily becoming one of the most popular characters from the game.
For context, Blaidd the Half Wolf is one of many NPCs in Elden Ring, having a whole quest line that progresses his story and focuses on his relationship with Ranni the Witch.
While it’s easy to see the appeal of him at first- we here at GamerBraves have repeatedly referred to him as “literally Guts” due to his uncanny resemblance to the hero of Kentaro Miura’s Berserk, it seems like fans have been worn over by his gentle nature and incredibly smooth voice.
“The Lands Between can be harsh, surely there’s no harm in asking for a hug from a friendly half-wolf man. even if not reciprocated, just his company is rather nice, he’s too charming for his own good, dang it“, writes Twitter user Nukude.
“so yall weren’t gonna tell me that there’s a wolf man in elden ring?? yall were just gonna let me Not know that???? yall were just gonna keep that information to yourselves huh you weren’t gonna tell me about this wolf man in this video game that i cannot play anyways?? smh”, writes another Twitter user, Zero.
Fans are even leaving affectionate notes for the knight in front of him in-game:
Everyone in Elden Ring has the same, very correct opinion about Blaidd

Of course, some people have channeled their appreciation for the knight into sick fanart, such as this piece by artist Alexen:

The Souls series is no stranger to lovable NPCs- Dark Souls 1 is practically outlived by Solaire of Astora and Siegmeyer of Catarina, friendly NPCs in an otherwise bleak world that’s literally dying.
Blaidd is in a particularly special place for Elden Ring, considering the character was barely present in any marketing for the game prior to launch. He made a brief appearance in a trailer, with many assuming he would be an enemy in the game rather than your companion.
Funnier still, it’s not like Elden Ring had no marketable NPCs- the game’s pre-release (and Geoff Keighley in particular) were very fond of pushing Iron-Fist Alexander, who hasn’t seemed to draw the same level of affection that only a 10-foot tall anthropomorphic wolf man can.
