Diablo Immortal is still planned for a 2022 release, according to Game Director, Wyatt Cheng, in a latest blog post about what they learnt from the most recent closed beta. We tried it out ourselves, which you can read about here.
There will be quite a number of changes to come across the various aspects of the game, the cliffnotes which include:
- Bounties becoming solo only, Shadow Contracts to become more flexible
- One new Helliquary raid boss per month, with multiple difficulty levels. UI will also be improved
- Boon of Plenty value to be reevaluated
- Details to come regarding sharable purchased items or alt characters, due to “feeling underwhelming”, to be resolved at launch
- Controller support will continue to be improved
- Warbands expanded to 8 players and more features to come
- New equipment sets will be added, and balance for existing ones
- The problem of loss of stats from low Paragon level pieces not making the set bonus worth it has been acknowledged, but no details provided
- Circle of Strife will see Clans competing with one another instead of Dark Houses and one final Immortal group
- Clans can now become Dark Clans, and can become the Immortal Clan after besting other Dark Clans and overthrowing the Immortals
- Immortal Clans can invite two other Dark Clans to become Immortal Allied Dark Clans
- Should an Immortal Clan get overthrown, they will return to being a normal Clan
- Meant to allow for more long-term social experience
- World Paragon level catch-up system improved
- Each server’s World Paragon level rises by 2 each day
- Those below this level get increased experience, while 4 levels above get reduced experience
- Item salvage modifiers will not be affected by Paragon levels, instead increasing materials required to advance items at the higher ranks
All the nitty gritty details can be found via the official blog post. Changes aside, we can only wait till we get the Diablo Immortal 2022 release date to really try out these goods with everyone else.
