Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 Update Breaks The Game, Again.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched its 1.5 patch yesterday, meant to bring the game to the next gen while also addressing many issues with the base game that have been there since its launch.

However, that isn’t the case for many players, as the patch seems to have also downright broken the game if you’re playing it on PS4 or PC.

The PS4 issues affect primarily the disk version of Cyberpunk 2077, where the 1.5 patch would cause the game to not launch while the PC version would crash constantly.

In a forum post, CD Projekt Red’s Marcin Momot said they are aware of the issues, with some general fixes to solve the issues.

“The crash is most likely caused by audio software conflict. So far we’ve identified this issue with audio drivers such as A-Volute, Nahimic or Sonic Studio”, he says. “We’re currently investigating”.

“Meanwhile, as a temporary solution, we recommend disabling said drivers before launching the game”, he continues.

This comes as another blow in the story of Cyberpunk 2077- who went from one of the most anticipated games of the past decade to a posterboy for unfinished game due to a myriad of bugs at launch.

The issues were so bad that both Microsoft and Sony Interactive Entertainment offered refunds– before the latter delisted the game entirely from its digital storefronts.

The fact they were made to pay for a game that couldn’t be sold even prompted class-action lawsuits from investors– though there’s been no updates on that since.
