On February 12th, the “official” Tower of Fantasy Facebook page made an announcement that the global version of the game is in the works. Similar announcements were made over on the game’s Discord server and Twitter page.
It's the ToF team here and we are thrilled to meet you all!😁

UPDATE: It looks like this announcement was real after all, as the related accounts were verified by Twitter.
However, this announcement and the validity of the game’s social media accounts are questionable. These social media accounts do not link back to developer Hotta Studio or any other publisher for that matter. In addition, Hotta Studio and CN publisher Perfect World Games did not make any such announcement over on their weibo pages.
Furthermore, the art used in the posts made on these English social media accounts does not have the copyright symbols typically featured in official Tower of Fantasy art.
As there is no way of messaging Tower of Fantasy‘s English social media accounts (both Facebook and Twitter pages disabled this function), we’ve reached out to the official Tower of Fantasy page for the upcoming Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau version which is in Traditional Chinese.
When asked whether the English Tower of Fantasy Facebook page is an official account, the Traditional Chinese page confirmed that they are the only official Facebook account, and no other. Thus, both the global version announcement and the English social media accounts for Tower of Fantasy are not legitimate.
Even though the announcement for the game’s global version is fake, there is still the possibility of a global release in the future. Last week, Bahamut GNN interviewed the Tower of Fantasy dev team, who stated that:
Versions in other regions are also under preparation, and relevant official community accounts will be launched in the near future.
Whether this includes the global region remains to be seen. It’s also worth noting that the devs stated that official community accounts will be launched in the near future. Thus, this further confirms that the already-launched Tower of Fantasy English social media accounts that posted the announcement are in no way linked to Hotta Studio. You can read the full interview at Bahamut GNN.
We’d like to remind readers to always be wary of the validity of what they read online, and whether there is an official source that is spreading the news, or just an account masquerading as one.
You can visit the official Tower of Fantasy website for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau for information regarding its upcoming release.
