Hasbro has announced the latest Transformers series coming to Nickelodeon, titled Transformers EarthSpark and featuring character designs by beloved comics artist Nick Roche.
In several social media posts, they’ve shown off short teasers of the series as well as stills from the upcoming show.
The teaser shows that unlike Cyberverse, EarthSpark will see the Transformers series returning to their Autobots-on-Earth setting, complete with young human companions.
Interestingly Bumblebee is absent from the first batch of shown-off characters, instead replaced with Elita-1 and Optimus Prime, sporting the evergreen designs used in multiple series such as the Netflix Transformers series.
While little else has been announced about the show, one surprise came from Sins of the Wreckers artist Nick Roche- who announced that he was one of the artists designing the show’s cast of robots.
“I’ll tell you more about it when I can. The team (and it’s not just me on Bot design, the gang are INSANE) love Transformers so much, and I’m delighted they asked me along to help with Bot-Wrangling”, he said in a tweet.
Nick Roche is a huge part of the IDW Comics continuity- having written and drawn the iconic Last Stand of the Wreckers along with colorist Josh Burcham before also doing many of the designs for characters in Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye alongside writer James Roberts.
