The album version of the song ‘Shogeki’ (Shock) by Yuko Ando, the ending theme song of Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 1 has been released as part of her album ‘Kongtong Recordings’. Just as Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 has begun airing, bringing the ever-popular series to its finale.
You can listen to the Kongtong Recordings album over Apple Music, Spotify, or on the Youtube music video.
During the initial airing of Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 1, may have noticed that Yuko Ando did not sing the final lyric of Shogeki.
It was now been revealed that the reason for the last line of the lyrics not being sung was because it revealed spoilers for events that would happen in the then-current season of Attack on Titan.
But with the original manga finished and the second half of the season now airing, the song has been recorded again with the last line has been added. The whole completed song is available as part of Ando’s new album.
Shogeki isn’t the only song on the Kongtong Recordings album that is based on Attack on Titan. At least two other tracks, ‘Mori No Kora’ (Children of The Forest) and ‘Halo’ (Goodbye) are also songs that Yuko Ando wrote with the world of Attack on Titan in mind.
When she first released the Album in November of 2020 there was no official information about the connection between these particular songs and anime stories.
Despite this, many fans have long speculated that the tracks Shogeki and Halo may be about Eren and Mikasa, and their viewpoints during the final part of the story.
Yuko Ando says that she hopes to further complete the world of Attack on Titan with her song by adding the missing words.
Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 is currently airing on Netflix in Southeast Asia as well as Crunchyroll in other regions.
