Having shown it off previously at Tokyo Game Show 2017, Sega has officially released the new trailer for Yakuza: Online.
To recap, Yakuza Online tells stories set in Kamurocho right after events which took place in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and stars a new protagonist by the name of Kasuga Ichiban, who is voiced by Nakaya Kazuhiro. This time around, while the Tojo Clan remains the strongest clan in Eastern Japan, the Omi Alliance and police have colluded to take control. Enter Ichiban, who has been released from prison after serving a 17-year sentence. One way or another, he will have to restore the district to its former glory, but standing in his way is not only the mob but government as well
The game is the first in the “New Yakuza Series” project, which will tell stories set in Kamurocho after the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. Check out screenshots of the game here.
Yakuza Online will be launched in Japan sometime in 2018 for Android, iOS and PC
