Thunderbolt Expedition introduces two new Aurorians to the Alchemy Stars roster in Siobhan and Erica. Both are PERMANENT. That said, should you try for their rate up?
Aurorians will be compared against others in a similar role / class across rarities in their respective element.
SIOBHAN
CLASS
Forest has quite the number of 6-star Converters for Siobhan to stack against, so let’s go through the lower rarity options first.
- 5-star Pact has lower cooldown and pre-emptive conversion, without targetting. Her 2 tile enhancement is not guaranteed. Generates enhanced tiles provided a marked enemy dies, besides gaining HP / boosting recovery effects. Brings Slow.
- 5-star Sikare has a longer cooldown, dealing damage, knockback and conversion in a cross shape. Has roughly more range on Chain Combo while also dealing DEF ignoring damage once to unmarked enemies.
- 4-star Wendy offers a Teleport instead of conversion that can return you to your original spot.
- 4-star Pasolo has a low cooldown, single tile conversion that she can use to build a “bridge”. Brings Bleeding.
- 4-star Jola resets all tiles, not reliable. Redistributes enhanced tiles, not guaranteed to be Green.
- 3-star Dove provides a limited Teleport with chance to Slow.
- 3-star Ophina swaps two selected tiles, enhancing Green ones. Brings Poison on Chain Combo.
ELEMENT
- Nikinis: Has pre-emptive, 2 turn, non-targetted conversion, and chance to enhance tiles. Row Chain Combo is less “flexible” while also simultaneously offering more reach depending on enemy position. Equipment arguably negligible.
- Gabriel: Works closer to a reset than “true” conversion. Longer cooldown. Also double Forest to Siobhan’s Forest / Fire, if elemental flexibility is your preference.
- Hedy: Longer cooldown, but if you swear by Carleen in Water, you’re unlikely to replace her.
VERDICT
Maybe?
Siobhan is arguably a side-grade to Nikinis, unless you can reliably enter Aurora Time and combo to reduce Siobhan’s cooldown. She does bring some more utility in turning her DEF to Shield instead. Her cooldown is probably the make or break point if you’ve already got the other Converter options.
ERICA
NOTE: The damage bonus from the equipment is 50% of what Erica gets, and NOT a flat 50%.
CLASS
Supporters in Thunder are a mixed bag for the most part. For 5-stars, Keating can mark enemies to increase their Thunder allies’ Normal Attack, and inflicts debuffs depending on mark count, and also draws aggro. Bonacie is an event character you may not necessarily have, offering potential double-cast enemy displacement and increases Chain Combo damage if she has her personal mark.
In 4-stars, Rabbie brings Teleport and knockback. Nadine offers a one-tile convert, heal, and chance to Blind. Lilliam has knockback and DEF debuff, and “slow”. Sole 3-star Thunder Supporter Amy basically only heals.
Random paralyze for a target along the path, unless it’s only the one, is debatably useful. As for her buffs, it only scales off enemies on yellow tiles.
ELEMENT
If we want to take her potential conversion, Gronru can do that and also potentially paralyze. Otherwise, Nemesis and Beverly would probably be your best bets. Vivian has some team buffs, but hers is also conditional on Chain Combos hitting all enemies.
VERDICT
No?
If the buff was a flat 50%, people would consider her the best buffer. As it stands, more debatable.
OVERALL
Hard maybe to no.
The problem with the Aurorian Trial for Erica especially is that she’s solo, so deciding how much it’s worth using her to buff her teammates is difficult to judge. Of course, if you like either of the characters in the Thunderbolt Expedition recruitment, then go ahead and pull for them in Alchemy Stars.
