KLab has acquired the Worldwide Distribution Rights, excluding Japan, for their upcoming online mobile game based on the popular manga/anime Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure (or just Jojo for short).
The game, whose title roughly translates to ‘Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Anthem’ is being developed in partnership with Shanghai-based studio Shengqu Games. The game was originally only going to be distributed in China, Hong Kong, and Shanghai however it has now expanded to release across other regions.
KLab said the Jojo mobile game has been in development since 2020 however there is still little information released about it. There is however an official website released for the game.
Klab is most well known for developing the Love Live gacha game, Love Live School Idol Festival. They have also worked on the gacha games Bleach: Brave Souls, Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team, and Lapis Re: LiGHTs. From these titles, it’s easy to see that they specialize in gacha games based on Anime licensed properties. There’s a good chance that their new Jojo game will also be made in this format.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is currently undergoing a renaissance of media content. While Part 8 of the manga has finished, Part 6: Stone Ocean has begun airing its anime adaptation. There will also be a new JoJo Magazine released in March with a new spin-off manga.
