The first seat of the Octagram has descended into Slime ISEKAI Memories, but is [Lord of Darkness] Guy Crimson worth pulling?
If you aren’t aware, Guy is a fire-element unit that deals physical damage. Sadly, his Secret Skill targets multiple enemies. However, unlike all the other multi-target Secret Skills in Slime ISEKAI Memories, Guy deals 290% damage with his Secret Skill, as opposed to all the other characters who only deal 270% damage.
Stat-wise, Guy possesses the highest ATK out of any non-Octagram unit. As for his skills, his first skill seals enemies’ DEF UP buffs, making it extremely useful against enemies who buff their own DEF, like Hinata in Conquest. His second skill is a 40% Soul of Combos damage buff that also debuffs enemies’ critical resistance. Both skills cost 65 Skill Points at level 1.
Guy’s biggest strength is DEF UP seal. Currently, no other character in the game can do that. Despite that, its high cost makes it very situational—it’s only useful for Conquest and potentially other bosses in the future. His second skill is a weaker alternative to Wind Milim and Dark Veldora’s buff, but it’s still useful regardless.
So, should you pull [Lord of Darkness] Guy Crimson? If you have the Magicrystals to spare, yes. Guy is a great unit, but not top tier. While he is by no means a must-pull like New Year’s Milim, he synergises well with your fire team and his DEF UP seal is bound to help out in future content. He is useful and far more impactful than say, [Captain of the Goblin Riders] Gobta, but he won’t trivialize the game like Milim.
However, if you do not have New Year’s Milim yet, prioritise her instead of Guy. You can still get by most of the game’s content without him.
