Mahjong Soul is a video game that takes Riichi Mahjong (Japanese Mahjong) and pits players against each other in anime avatars. Developed by Catfood Studios, the game was first released in China back in 2018, before releasing as a browser game in Japan the next year. Mahjong Soul is currently available worldwide via the App Store and Play Store.
Yostar, the game’s publisher, also has several other anime adaptations of their mobile games coming up. Arknights: Prelude to Dawn and Azur Lane: Queen’s Orders are anime series for both Arknights and Azur Lane set to come out in the future. Both Yostar-published games also won awards during the 2021 Bilibili Game Awards, which you can learn more about here.
