A Study in Potions is more of a mini event in Genshin Impact. Still, there are some details you might like to take note of, so read on!
STARTING THE QUEST
You’ll find the Elixirs and Potions World Quest, which requires Adventure Rank 30 and completion of the Archon Quest “Farewell, Archaic Lord”. Meet up with Timaeus and proceed through the dialogue. You’ll then be asked to challenge stages in a new domain.
OVERVIEW
- Finishing one floor will raise the difficulty of the next floor, from lowest to highest: Normal, Hard, Extreme, Fearless.
- Two score multipliers: Accurate Sample (x1), Strong Control Group (x2.5).
- A party will be locked to one stage, but its members can be available for the stage after the next. e.g.: Kazuha used in Stage 1 will not be available in Stage 2, but can be used in Stage 3.
- However, any previously used potions cannot be used on subsequent stages if you lock it in.
- You can bring four party members and three potions to any one stage.
- Using Trial Characters will not activate Elemental Resonance.
- If you want to retry, then hit the Reset Trial on the bottom left.
POTION EFFECTS

Convection Potion | After a character triggers the Swirl reaction against a nearby opponent, all party members' ATK is increased by 20% for 8s. |
Intensifying Potion | The active character's DMG is increased by 30% and they take 15% more DMG. |
Explosive Potion | All party members' Elemental Burst DMG is increased by 20%. |
Coalescence Potion | All party members' Elemental Mastery is increased by 120. |
Dielectric Potion | After triggering Overloaded, Superconduct, or Electro-Charged reactions, all party members deal 7.5% increased DMG for 8s. The buff for each reaction is an independent entity with its own timer. Max 3 stacks. |
Deflagration Potion | When a character triggers the Melt or Vaporize reactions, a shockwave will be released at the location of opponent upon whom the reaction was triggered, dealing AOE DMG. This effect can be triggered once every 5s. |
Fragility Potion | Characters deal 25% more DMG to Frozen opponents. |
Resonance Potion | If an active character hits an opponent using Normal Attacks from a Catalyst, infused Normal Attacks, or Normal Attacks that have been converted into Elemental DMG, that character will gain 5% all Elemental DMG Bonus for 10s. This effect can be triggered once every 1s. |
Parallel Potion | When the active character uses an Elemental Skill, all party members' CDs are shortened by 50% for 8s. This effect can be triggered ever 16s. |
Gravity Potion | When the active character uses an Elemental Burst, Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks deal 25% more DMG for 15s. This effect will be cleared when the character leaves the field. |
Intensity Potion | All party members' Charged Attack DMG is increased by 20%. |
Honing Potion | All party members' Normal Attack DMG is increased by 20%. |
Slow-Release Potion | When a character's Elemental Skill hits an opponent, a great number of Elemental particles will be produced that will restore 6 Elemental Energy. This effect can be triggered once every 3s. |
Frenzy Potion | Characters' Charged Attack Stamina consumption is decreased by 50%. |
Lightening Potion | Characters' Sprint Stamina consumption is decreased by 50%. |
Firming Potion | All party members' DEF is increased by 50%. |
DUSTY WRACK
When a character uses their Elemental Burst, they will obtain 1 Nucleus stack. This increases all party members’ ATK by 5% and DEF by 10%. Max 6 stacks. When a character affected by 3 or more Nucleus stacks uses an Elemental Burst, all party members’ Energy Recharge is increased by 50%.

When a character’s Normal Attack hits an opponent, they gain 1 Sundered Steel stack. This increases all party members’ Normal Attack DMG by 5% for 6s. This effect can be triggered once every 1.5s. Max 8 stacks.

SOLITARY RAMPART
When an opponent is defeated, all party members will be affected by Corrosion. Characters being Corroded will lose a fraction of their HP every second. Active characters can be brought down by Corrosion. When a non-active character’s HP is less than 15%, they will no longer lose HP due to Corrosion. Corrosion lasts for 8s and can stack. The duration of each stack is independent of the others.
You can complete the Academic Exchange quest right away. It doesn’t affect the actual domain.
