Developer Reliance Games has just announced that it will be working on a new mobile game featuring the superstars and legends from the WWE in the form of WWE Mayhem. This action arcade title boasts a large roster and over-the-top signature moves which can be further augmented through unlockable used in conjunction with items from an upcoming Mattel action figure line. Think of the Amiibos.
According to Casey Collins, Executive VP of Consumer Products for the WWE, “WWE Mayhem brings action and entertainment for the entire family with simple gameplay mechanics for casual players and deep progression elements for core gamers. Reliance’s history of working with world-class brands and their expertise in free-to-play mobile gaming made them the natural choice to partner with on this exciting new game.” How this translates into actual gameplay is anyone’s guess at this point, but we expect at least a competent but simplified wrestling title.
