As previously announced, Soul Tide will be launching in Japan, with a planned release during the “first half of 2022”. Its official website has been recently established, which you can check out here. Pre-registrations are now available, with milestone rewards going up to 500,000 players, offering the usual currency and a free unit.
As the story seems to go, you take on the role of “summoner”, summoning souls as “dolls” in order to explore this labyrinthian “labyrinth”. Conquer the “labyrinth” and uncover the secrets of a witch who had plunged the world into war. Witches and humans have always been at odds, and it would seem like the witches have won, trapping the humans. Nonetheless, the player is able to summon lost souls to explore outside of their dimension. What secrets wait to be discovered?
Aside from the story itself, the pretty much standard gameplay mechanics are present. The website gives a preview of the exploration that looks like a board game, and a dorm system where the dolls reside as cute chibis. If you’re in for the voice actors, Mai Nakahara, Rina Sato, Yukari Fukui, Mariya Ise, Kaori Nazuka and Rie Takahashi are just some of them.
Soul Tide originally launched in China in August 2021, having already confirmed its Japan release. We’ll see if a global version will come at some point.
