As Christmas arrives, so does the first ice-element Construct of Punishing Gray Raven, Lucia: Plume. Plume is an S-rank Attacker. Like the other Lucia Constructs, she also wields a blade in Punishing Gray Raven.
This guide will teach you how to best use Lucia: Plume, tips and tricks, recommended builds and teammates.
Lucia: Plume Overview
Being the only ice-element Construct in the game at the moment, Plume is obviously the best choice for ice-element War Zone. However, she offers a lot more than just ice damage—capable of competing against both Alpha and Bianca: Veritas as amongst the Top DPS units in the game. In terms of play style, she is somewhat similar to Kamui: Tenebrion, in that their gameplay centres around two different forms. For Plume, her ability to reorganise her orbs and the sheer amount of damage her Arctic form deals make her a powerful burst DPS character.
For Phantom Pain Cage, bosses weak to Lucia: Plume include Roseblade, Huaxu and Machiavelli in the future. Plume deals less damage to Nozzle, as it’s resistant to ice.
Here are her active skills:
- Core Passive (3-ping Blue + 3-ping of any colour)
In Normal Form, every 3 orb ping of any colour increases your energy bar by 50% and add 1 stack to ultimate, up to 2 stacks.
In Arctic Form, the energy bar will drain as time goes on. Increase ice damage by 25(50)% when the bar is present. Every 3 orb ping will add 1 stack to ultimate, up to 4 stacks. If the bar is present during ultimate, the ultimate will be buffed by the bar.
- Red Orb
Stand still and slash 4/4/8 times, each slash dealing 30/60/60(60/120/120)% physical damage.
Arctic Form: Create a moving tornado in front of yourself. The tornado deals 15/30/45(30/60/90)% ice damage 9 times while moving. The tornado deals 65/130/195(130/260/390)% ice damage when it reaches its maximum range.
- Yellow Orb
Quickly dash towards the enemies and slash them twice. Each slash deals 57.5/115/172.5(115/230/345)% physical damage.
Arctic Form: Jump and slam down towards the target, dealing damage twice. Each damage is 75/150/225(150/300/450)% ice damage.
- Blue Orb
Spin in midair for several turns and follow up with a downward-cut. When spinning, each slash deals 15/30/45(30/60/90)% physical damage. The downward-cut deals 35/70/105(70/140/210)% physical damage.
Arctic Form: Release a tornado that cuts the target 5 times. Each cut deals 20/40/60(40/80/120)% ice damage. Deal another 40/80/120(80/160/240)% ice damage and pull the target towards you when pulling back the sword.
- Ultimate
Switch to Arctic Form. Can be used anytime during normal mode. After switching there will be a 3-second cooldown. During the switch, you are immune to CC. If your energy is full when you switch, the orbs will be rearranged into 3 orbs of the same colour, when possible.
Arctic Form: Jump up and toss down your booster towards the ground, dealing 450/600/800/1520(900/1200/1600/3040)% ice damage, temporarily slowing the target and return to normal mode. Can be used in Arctic Form when ultimate has 1 or more charge.
Gameplay Tips
Use 2 3-pings in Normal Form and 2 3-pings in Arctic Form for maximum damage from ultimate
To achieve maximum damage from her ultimate, Lucia: Plume needs 4 charges. You can get 4 by making 2 3-pings in each form. Switching in counts as a 3-ping, so if you switch in, perform 3 3-pings instead (1 3-ping in Normal Form, 2 3-pings in Arctic Form, assuming you switch into Normal Form).
Conserve orbs for more damage in Arctic Form
Besides her ultimate, a large portion of her DPS comes from orb skills in Arctic Form. Ensure that you have enough orbs to get 4 charges for the ultimate.
At SS-rank and beyond, start your combo with blue orbs
Lucia: Plume’s SS passive skill increases the damage she deals to enemies by 10% if they are struck by blue orbs. Before bursting down your enemies, ensure that you hit enemies with blue orbs first, even if it isn’t a blue orb 3-ping.
Recommended Builds
Note that for the following two builds, Einsteina is recommended for now as the game hasn’t launched any other ice Constructs who are the best at supporting her. Once Changyu and Wanshi are out, switch Einsteina to Darwin. Resonating Einsteina for the time being is alright, since it’ll take several more months before that happens.
4 Hanna 2 Einsteina
The go-to general build for Lucia: Plume. Even though her event launched together with the dedicated ice Memory Zu Wenyuan, Hanna is superior as it synergises with her play style better thanks to easier 3-pings. Zu Wenyuan’s 4 set effect is also better suited for QTE from other Constructs. Always equip your Hanna in slots 4, 5 and 6 as Einsteina/Darwin will provide more stats at the top row.
4 Frederick 2 Einsteina
In specific cases like Phantom Pain Cage, 4 Frederick build can outperform the 4 Hanna build thanks to the damage buff provided from dodging. Note: you need a clear understanding of burst windows and the boss’ remaining HP for this build to outperform 4 Hanna, as well as the skill necessary to pull it off. For Warzone, stick to the 4 Hanna build. Just like 4 Hanna, keep your Frederick in slots 4, 5 and 6 as Frederick provides more ATK stat.
Recommended Teammates
In the future, when more ice Constructs like Wanshi, Changyu and S Chrome are released, they’ll be the preferred teammates for Lucia: Plume. Until then, her go-to teammates are:
Lucia: Lotus and Ayla: Brilliance
Both Lucia: Lotus and Ayla: Brilliance are great because they have long QTE animations that hits the enemies multiple times. With 4 Da Vinci and 4 Zu Wenyuan equipped on either of them, your Plume will be able to maximise her DPS.
