A new rumor states that Persona 4 Golden will be coming to multiple modern consoles, including the Nintendo Switch sometime next year as part of the Persona 25th anniversary celebrations.
This news comes courtesy of Zippo, an insider who had correctly predicted the port of Persona 4 Ultimax that was revealed at The Game Awards. He posted on his blog stating that Persona 4 Golden will be coming to modern consoles, specifically stating that it will be coming to the Switch.
He had stated a couple of days ago that a remaster of Persona 3 Portable will also be coming to modern consoles. It is unknown which will be revealed and released first but they will both be released sometime next year in 2022 as part of Atlus Persona anniversary projects.
Persona 4 Golden is an enhanced port of the original Persona 4 for PS2 which new content including more personas, new characters, and new story scenarios. Golden was originally released for the PS Vita in 2012 before receiving a port to Steam in 2020.
Sega, who owns Atlus, has previously said that they wanted to port more of Atlus games to multiple platforms, meaning that this news, if true, would go in line with Sega’s goals going forward.
Persona 4 Golden is currently available for PC and PS Vita, but perhaps that will change sometime next year.
