[ Guide ] Shaman King Funbari Chronicle Launch Tier List

While it may only be available in Japan at time of writing, there’s no harm having a tier list for Shaman King: Funbari Chronicle if you ever want to get into the game (and hope for a global release). If you’re wondering what that is, it’s a turn-based mobile game, and a stylish one at that. Check out our impressions here.

Launch means there aren’t that many characters, of course, but the starting roster is already a pretty solid one. Many of them have reliable combat and support abilities, so no one will be truly “useless” even if they’re not high rarity.

The scale goes as follows:

• S Tier: The “perfect” character to have in your team, especially those who bring status effects that can halt an enemy’s momentum
• A Tier: A solid character across roles, with more effort required in finding and building synergies around for maximum effect
• B Tier: Still reliable due to high damage potential and / or support skills in buffs / debuffs. Experiment with combinations!

HOROHORO	S		Highly capable in disabling enemies thanks to two ice attacks. Can also lower enemy defense and critical rate.
HOROHORO	S		This version of Horohoro can also debuff enemy defenses. Brings a self-buff to increase hit rate.
ANNA KYOYAMA	S		Buffs attack power and defense of allies. Can also heal, arguably the best initial Support.
FAUST	S		Disables enemies for multiple turns. Brings two attack debuffs for enemies too.
TAMAMURA TAMAO	A		Can disable enemies for a turn. A reliable DPS who can quickly recover from debuffs, which could make or break high difficulty fights.
CHOCOLOVE MCDONELL	A		Can disable enemies for a turn. Can buff allies' attack power.
KANNA BISMARCH	A		Highly flexible character. Especially handy in reducing enemy speed.
MATILDA MATISSE	A		Has one of the best Overbursts. Can also boost the Overburst gauge of allies.
ASAKURA YOH	B		Solid damage potential. Can buff allies' attack power.
MARION PHAUNA	B		Gets bonus attack power when attacking debuffed enemies. Also can debuff enemy defense significantly.
TAO JUN	B		Can buff her own attack power to its maximum value. Can be a more effective support depending on how high her HP is.
LYSERG DIETHEL	B		Can disable enemies for a turn. Has multiple attack types to suit the situation, but you might prefer someone more specialized. Does bring utility in boosting Overburst gauge.

The new Shaman King anime is available legally via Netflix. You can really see the game try to adapt the anime style, so it’ll be a shame if you don’t give either of these a try if you’ve missed out on the original.
