An insider claims that a Remaster of Persona 3 portable will be the next game announced as part of the Persona 25th Anniversary celebrations.
A blogger named Zippo, who had accurately predicted the port of Persona 4 Ultimax that was revealed at The Game Awards has said that Persona 3 Portable is getting a multiplatform remaster.
Persona 3 Portable was a port of the original Persona 3 for PS2 to the PSP. This release saw notable new features in the form of a female protagonist with different dialogue choices and social links to partake in. It also allowed the player to manually control party members.
That being said, Persona 3 Portable also lacked certain content from the previous releases due to the lack of power on the PSP. This included the full 3D environment with character models and ‘The Answer’ extra content which was added in the PS2 rerelease of the game: Persona 3 FES. Zippo has not said if this potential remaster with be a straight port of the PSP version with higher graphics or if they could possibly update the game and add this content back in.
This will be part of Atlus’ Persona 25th Anniversary which will see seven new projects revealed from the series. So far these have included a new concert and the port of Persona 4 Arena with fans hoping to see more ports of the older games for modern consoles. Atlus has stated that they will not all be video games though.
