AppMagic has published miHoYo ‘s earnings over its lifetime, where the company reportedly made 2.4 billion USD across all its mobile titles.
UPDATE: A previous version of this article included a typo about the game’s earnings, they’ve been adjusted accordingly. We apologize for the error.
In a graph tracking the earnings of mihoyo, they published the breakdown of the company’s earnings according to each game.
Genshin Impact stood head over shoulders compared to its sister games, earning a whopping 1.6 billion USD, a full 1 billion USD more than the runner-up, Honkai Impact 3rd.
Aside from that, Genshin Impact also has the lion’s share of downloads as well, having been downloaded 85 million times, with Honkai Impact 3rd at 45 million.
It should be noted that these are simply from the mobile sales of the game- the graph makes no mention of this including sales from the console release of Genshin Impact, meaning that Genshin Impact’s actual revenue might be much higher than reported.
It’s a really impressive feat, especially considering Genshin Impact is only the second-most-recently announced game in miHoYo’s portfolio. The newest title, Tears of Themis, sits at the bottom of the chart, having only earned 16 million USD since its launch.
It remains beaten out by Gun GirlZ, the predecessor to Honkai Impact that announced its shutdown earlier this year as well.
While fan sentiment about Genshin Impact is shaky at best, there’s no doubt it’s one of the big powerhouses on the mobile marketplace- ever since its adoption of universal cross-save, it’s a game you can enjoy on any level- be it its mobile client, PC or even the console version with one contiguous save file.
