Anno 1800: Eden Burning will launch 14 December

Anno 1800 has teased the arrival of its Season 4 pass, while also announcing the launch of Eden Burning, its UNEP Choice Award-winning game mode, for 14 December. The city builder game from Ubisoft will release three DLCs as part of Season 4.

In the mean time, Anno 1800 has also recently surpassed two million players. Two ship skins – one each for the Battlecruiser and Ship of the Line – will be gifted to players in the coming update.

In Eden Burning, Anno 1800 players will get to challenge a rogue-like mechanic, teaching players the dangers of an exploitative economy for the environment. It first debuted during the 2021 Green Game Jam, where players must finish an industrial project without destroying their ecosystem, and also weigh between renewable and non-renewable resources along the way. Sustainable practices will see the best results, but let’s see if you can get there depending on how your choices positively – or negatively – impact the environment. Eden Burning will be part of the 14 December, free Game Update 13. In Season 4, at least one new Scenario will be released alongside each of the three new DLC.

Additionally, Anno 1800 is partnering with Ecologi, a social enterprise funding reforestation and other carbon reduction projects. The 14 December update will allow players to buy the Plant A Tree DLC to receive a new ornamental tree for their cities. A minimum of $1 per DLC purchase will be forwarded to Ecologi. The campaign ends 31 March 2022, upon which the DLC will be removed from the in-game store. Existing owners will keep their tree, which will be given away for free later 2022.

Last but not least, Anno 1404 History Edition will be free as part of Ubisoft’s 35th Anniversary celebrations from 6 – 14 December.
