God of War 2018 has been hyped up since it was announced back in 2014 and even more screams from E3 2016 when the official trailer came out. Now that the game has already been released since April 20th, the game had lived up to the hype and gained many amazing ratings. Because of that, it’s very unsurprising when Sony Interactive Entertainment told us that God of War, had been sold more that 3,100,000 copies in just the first three days!
Santa Monica Studios of SIE Worldwide Studios (SIE WWS) has created a masterpiece since its eight-year franchise hiatus. With 3.1 million copies sold within 3 days after its launch, they became the fastest-selling first party title that’s exclusive on the PS4.
“I would like to personally thank the millions of fans around the world who decided to hop on Kratos’ latest adventure with us. Your support is truly inspiring, and it’s a reason why we push ourselves every day to go beyond the boundaries of play. I’d also like to thank our amazing team at Santa Monica Studio.
The passion for storytelling across the team is undeniable, and I hope it’s clear that we never settle for what’s conventional. We look forward to hearing more about how fans are enjoying the game and creating new memories of their favorite God of War gameplay moments that will be remembered for decades to come.” said Shannon Studstill, VP, Product Development, Head of Santa Monica Studio, SIE.
Then just yesterday, they had announced an upcoming patch that will address certain bugs and improvements for the game. They will be adding the Photo Mode and increasing the text size in all menus and subtitles of the game. An additional controller option to remap the Rage Mode is also in it’s plans.
While they’re at it, they will continue to investigate on an issue where certain players have experienced missing dialogues and possible progression blockers when selecting the “New Game” option from the main menu without closing down the application first. It was advised that players close down the application first before starting a new playthrough.
And lastly, they will be working to include fixes for some infrequent crashes and bugs to provide a more stablized experience of the game.
